2025 Season
by Caryl Churchill
First performed in by Mad as Hops in 2016,
we're bringing a new production this fall!
Someone can’t get a signal. Someone won’t answer the door. Someone put an elephant on the stairs. Someone’s not ready to talk. Someone hates irrational numbers. Someone told the police. Someone got a message from the traffic light. Someone doesn’t understand pain. Someone’s never felt like this before.
Love and Information is an insightful, poetic, and fast-paced play by award-winning British playwright Caryl Churchill.
In over fifty scenes, more than a hundred characters are confronted with the things they know, don’t know, want to know, or want to forget. We get a glimpse of their attempts to discover meaning in the moment. In an age of big data and splintered attention spans, Love and Information challenges us to understand what it means to be truly connected with each other.

A collection of six delightful one-act plays, directed and performed by members of the Mad as Hops Theatre Collective. Each play is a carefully crafted combination of wordplay and wit. Guaranteed to delight, and perplex!
Featuring an infinite number of monkeys (well, three); composer Philip Glass going to a bakery; revolutionary Leon Trotsky debating his fate with an encyclopedia; and many other absurdities!
Includes "Sure Thing," "Words, Words, Words," "The Universal Language," "Variations on the Death of Trotsky," "The Philadelphia," and "Philip Glass Buys a Loaf of Bread."
Celebrating its tenth year of creating unique theatre experiences, Mad as Hops has passed the reins to its actors to form the Mad as Hops Theatre Collective. This group is greater than the sum of its parts.
